ArtGallery.co.uk at the Knapp Gallery

ArtGallery.co.uk announces a new, exciting exhibition with a theme of “Structure” at the Knapp Gallery, Regent’s College, Regent’s Park. This exhibition continues to include students of the Royal Academy Schools.

Mike & Aileen Mitchell, the partners of ArtGallery.co.uk, are delighted to manage the Knapp Gallery in Regent’s College, an international College with over 3,000 students, set in the heart of the lovely Crown park, Regent’s Park. The Knapp Gallery is superbly situated adjacent to the recently-re-modelled reception area and is used for College meetings, Open Days, lectures and for many public and private functions.

Mike Mitchell from ArtGallery.co.uk, said: "As an on-line art gallery with over 900 artists and more than 7,000 original artworks, the Knapp Gallery gives us a great opportunity to exhibit some of our artists’ work at the Knapp Gallery, Regent’s College.

We are also privileged to have been allowed by Professor Maurice Cockrill, Keeper of the Royal Academy of Arts, to show some of the work produced by the students of the Royal Academy Schools. On the “Academy Wall”, you can see a varied and dramatic set of paintings by four of his students."

About the Royal Academy Schools’ objectives:

Professor Maurice Cockrill RA, Keeper of the Royal Academy of Arts, said:

"The Royal Academy Schools is an independent establishment that offers the only three-year, full-time postgraduate course in the UK. As the country’s oldest art school, it has a strong sense of identity, tradition and community, having developed continuously since its foundation with the Royal Academy in 1768. It is regarded throughout the world as a centre of excellence.

There are no fees and every effort is made to help support students with bursaries, awards and grants for materials, albeit at a quite modest level. Many students need to take some part-time work – often in the Royal Academy itself – to offset the high cost of living and studying in London.

Although competition for places at the schools is fierce, the advantages for the chosen individuals are immense. Its history, illustrious alumni, the internationally admired programme of loan exhibitions of the Royal Academy itself, plus numerous commercial art galleries in the vicinity make it a very stimulating and inspiring environment in which to study.

We are looking for artists who have total commitment to their work, clear potential for creative growth and a passionate desire to evolve an original and personal vision."
