ArtGallery.co.uk at the Knapp Gallery, Regent’s Park, London

Our current exhibition at the Knapp Gallery features artists Gosia Kryk and Jo Dennis, together with Royal Academy of Arts student, Lucinda Graves.

We manage the Knapp Gallery in Regent’s College, an international College with over 3,000 students, set in the heart of the lovely Crown park, Regent’s Park. The Knapp Gallery is superbly situated next to the College’s splendid reception area and is used for College meetings, Open Days, lectures and for many public and private functions.

We enjoy the opportunity to show work from some of the website gallery’s leading artists – as an on-line art gallery with over 1400 artists and more than 12,000 original artworks, the Knapp Gallery gives us a great opportunity to exhibit some of our artists’ work in this wonderful location in the heart of one of London’s great Parks.

We are also privileged to have had great support from Professor Maurice Cockrill, Keeper of the Royal Academy of Arts Schools, who allows us to show the work of the students of the Royal Academy Schools. For this exhibition, on what we now have designated the “Academy Wall”, you can see a dramatic set of paintings by Lucinda Graves.

This exhibition is also showing the work of two very talented young artists, Gosia Kryk and Jo Dennis. Gosia was born in Poland and is a graduate of the Gdansk Academy of Fine Arts – she has a growing reputation and has previously exhibited in London at the Summer Madness Show in 2007 and her work has featured at the Affordable Art Fairs in Battersea.

Visitors to this exhibition will have the opportunity to see her work in an excellent gallery setting which sets off her superb feel for colour composition. Her exhibition room looks stunning - her abstract pieces sit very well with her still life’s – all with her inimitable style and they would enhance modern or traditional living spaces. Gosia’s feel for design is used to great effect as you can see in her collection on this website.

Jo Dennis is a graduate of the highly regarded Goldsmiths and is a very talented artist with much potential. Her work is extremely contemporary, created with paint and ink - but is also quite challenging, she is fascinated with contrast and ambiguity, man and beast, beauty and vanity and the loss of control caused by fear and emotional states. The result is a very fine collection of modern, relevant art which will provide endless hours of pleasure and fascination at superficial and deep levels. You can see her gallery here.

Opening times

Access to the exhibition is available via the main college reception 7 days a week, although the Gallery is in use from time to time for College and external functions.

About the Royal Academy Schools’ objectives:

Professor Maurice Cockrill RA, Keeper of the Royal Academy of Arts, said:

"The Royal Academy Schools is an independent establishment that offers the only three-year, full-time postgraduate course in the UK. As the country’s oldest art school, it has a strong sense of identity, tradition and community, having developed continuously since its foundation with the Royal Academy in 1768. It is regarded throughout the world as a centre of excellence.

There are no fees and every effort is made to help support students with bursaries, awards and grants for materials, albeit at a quite modest level. Many students need to take some part-time work – often in the Royal Academy itself – to offset the high cost of living and studying in London.

Although competition for places at the schools is fierce, the advantages for the chosen individuals are immense. Its history, illustrious alumni, the internationally admired programme of loan exhibitions of the Royal Academy itself, plus numerous commercial art galleries in the vicinity make it a very stimulating and inspiring environment in which to study.

We are looking for artists who have total commitment to their work, clear potential for creative growth and a passionate desire to evolve an original and personal vision."
