Artist Adam Gill

Since childhood I have always been extremely passionate about art and would regularly draw pictures for both friends and family alike. The pleasure I gained as a child gave me the impetus to study art. As I grew older I found art (in a variety of media) to be an extremely powerful means of expression, a cathartic tool to explore not only my own idiosyncrasies but wider socio-political issues. Having experimented with different techniques, my painting style which has been described as 'modern abstract' has developed over a number of years and I feel is still evolving to this day. I have been influenced by a number of artists who I have studied including, the distressed visual style of Mimmo Rotella and the expressive mark making of Robert Rauschenberg and Jasper Johns. After taking a brief hiatus from painting to concentrate on the formative years of my career as a video editor, I have recently re-embraced my love of art as a means of escapism from my day job. I am excited about exhibiting my work on artgallery.co.uk and look forward to seeing how my work is received.
