Amy Methven

After studying Fine Art at Moray School of Art, I have created many pieces of Art inspired by the surrealists with a twist of modern graffiti and street Art within them. My style has been called Bizarre, weird, mad and alternative. I have influenced by the Trans-humanist movement of the 1980s which consisted of H.R Giger and Alex Grey. Other influences are classic antique clockwork puppetry, general mechanics, hallucinogenics and the study of dreams.

I am an artist that believes that a truly creative person can make Art out of the most ordinary things. Art should confuse and challenge one's mind and its fixated views on what certain things are and should be. It should also excite and inspire the psyche. Creativity is the electricity that keeps the most complex machine in the cosmos; the brain, alive.
