Andrea Moore is an artist of Life! She loves colour, flavour, form and sound and all the myriad expressions of those in the world via painting, sculpture, needlework, cooking, letter writing, music and gardening and she does a bit of each every day. She has a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in sculpture from Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. She also holds a Masters Degree in Art Education from University of Massachusetts. She has lived in 9 states in the USA and also spent a period of time in the Amazon region of Brazil in the city of Belem where she taught painting, drawing and sculpture and had exhibitions of her work. She now lives half of every year in Gloucestershire. Everything she has ever done has culminated in her triangle paintings. From her interest in architecture and sculpture to ceramics and printmaking and even her work in fibre arts contributes to creating these structures of colour and movement. The beauty of the triangle paintings must be experienced first hand because the surfaces change with the movement of light and shadows over the course of the day. The number of tactile effects she achieves is obvious from the smoothest satin to hard rusted steel. The colours are vibrant and resonate with the movement of the piece. Repetition is an important component of her work, repetition of rhythm and season, waking and sleeping, creating a tempo of development and return that becomes like our own circadian rhythm.
