 Andrew is an artist.
He has painted for over 30 years and regards his work and style as constantly evolving.
His early artistic influences came from the painters associated with the Dada and Surrealist movements and Andrews paintings reflect his own thoughts in a similarly provocative manner.
Andrew enjoys pushing the boundaries and limits of his painting style and works hard with his subjects to create something that is different and perhaps a little edgy. He paints without compromise and like the original Surrealists loves exploring and liberating the creative powers of the unconscious mind. He will take an idea and whilst preserving the useful portion of it, will move it beyond its limitations. Colours and subject matter are chosen not just for their aesthetic appeal but to guide the viewer to a subliminal message or meaning.
Andrew endeavours to create pictures that force an intimate relationship between the viewer and the subject. He appeals to the viewer on an emotional level, inviting them into situations that they would not otherwise be privy to encounter.
His studio is in the north of Plymouth and he now predominantly paints figurative works.
Andrew paints his original pieces either to exhibit or from commissions and to that end has produced a series of very limited edition, hand finished, signed prints and limited edition signed prints of his most popular works. All pictures are numbered and are certificated. They are despatched securely packaged, by courier or recorded mail.Artgallery rating
