Artist Anna Mistry

Art for me is a process of experimentation, and learning new ways to present ideas. I'm developing a greater interest in the overall presentation of artwork, such as combining pieces into one larger artefact. I love all kinds of styles and subjects, but focus mainly on eye-catching statement pieces that can influence the entire atmosphere of a room. The representation of contrast is an important feature for me, with the juxtaposition of light/dark, rough/smooth. My current series, shown here, is called 'Beach Art'. I've attempted to enrich seascapes with a great amount of texture from both natural materials such as sand, gravel, dried moss, shells with the help of some artificial constructs. The result is incredibly high impact pieces that really create the impression of having a slice of beach on the wall. Over the last few years my artwork has become increasingly popular, selling across the country. I've exhibited locally and hope soon to have pieces on display in showhomes.
