Ashley's approach is largely defined by the skills he gained as a young graffiti artist in 1980s London when, operating under the alias Urge23, he spray painted many murals across South London and gained a reputation as a fine 'piecer'.
He returned to painting once again in 2011 and his influences now range from abstract expressionism to native Australian dot art. His work is probably best categorised as post-graffiti but Ashley no longer wishes to be constrained by letterforms.
He predominantly uses acrylic aerosol paint with other supporting media to enhance and finish his artworks. Ashley’s intentions are simple: to create beautiful art that is both thought provoking and desirable.Artgallery rating
