Bahar Yamini-Sharif, daughter of professor of education and loving housewife, was born in Tehran in 1952. She started her education in Iran, studying child psychology. As a child Bahar travelled a lot and developed a love for colour and texture as well as a great fascination with culture. She began her education in Iran, studying CP at Meli school. She showed a great interest in the arts and studied it privately under the mastership of Aydin Aghdashloo and Parvaneh Etemadi.
During 1979, a very bitter-sweet year for Bahar and her family, she gave birth to twin daughters. Not only was this the year in which the Islamic revolution took place, but it was also the year prior to the 8 year Iran/Iraq war.
Bahar moved to England in 1988, where she found the freedom to study the arts, her true passion. Inspired by Persian poetry, in particular Sohrab Sepehri, as well as Persian culture, Bahar, with her new freedom, attended The London Institute, where she gained a degree in Fine Arts. Following this Bahar studied fine art and Sculpture at Middlesex University. She completed her studies at Westminster University doing a masters degree in Media and Film. Bahar today spends her time between her family and her painting.
