Ben Pearce's passion and interest of art begins almost as soon as he did. Twenty six years has cultivated and matured an original and remarkable talent that feels natural. Having studied fine arts at the Royal Forest of Dean College in Gloucestershire, Ben moved directly to find new sources of input and challenge. These personal challenges ultimately enabled him to enter a period of discovery, all while completing his BA honours within the Arts institute at Cheltenham.
After graduating, Ben sought to expand his horizons of both art and the world by volunteering in South America with DFID. His experiences there would directly influence his art direction for almost two years resulting in a 10 piece exhibition showing in Bristol, Sheffield, Cheltenham, Forest of Dean and private.
Working with acrylics using mixed art brush, pallet tools and textured paints to create realistic arts with a lived in feel.
"I like to insure each canvas has a lived in and an expansive feel. I tend to work with textured paints to break up the flat surface and break down the boundary between the image and the world around it. I like to use elements of accuracy within my painting, but I also allow breathing room for the audience fill the gaps, and cement an effect of realism themselves."
