 Bernard Rangel is a self taught artist that has been painting for more than 36 years. He has recently relocated from Brazil to the UK after living there for 24 years. His work is original, creative and very colourful. The classification is Contemporary Tribal Surrealism and it is a progression from artists like Miro, Max Ernst and Matisse.
Bernard's family originates from Goa, India but he was born in Aden and then educated in Ireland and Switzerland. He has lived and worked in eight different countries and has learnt to communicate in several languages. This cultural mix is expressed in his work.
He has painted on many mediums; stage backdrops, canvas, paper, ceramic, digital and metal. He also uses different commercial forms to sell his art. Creative imagery is an important part of his ideology.
