Artist Bernard Roberts

I completed an Honours Degree in Bio Sciences in 2001, but since then have moved into the driver training industry. Although I'm not a full time artist , art and the natural world have always been my two great interests. I grew up living in the countryside in Kent and spent many hours during my childhood walking across the North Downs and through the woodlands taking in the sights, sounds, smells and atmosphere of the English landscape. That appreciation and passion for the countryside has always been expressed in my artwork ever since I was young. My aim whenever I paint, regardless of the medium, is to transport the viewer to another place, to recreate my memories for all to see. The majority of my artwork is acrylic landscapes, but I also paint in other mediums and cover other subjects, such as portraits and abstracts. I've been selling my art since I was in my teens and cannot recall how many paintings I've sold over the years. Some of this work has included commissions, but mostly I have recreated the pleasant memories I have, which are an endless source of inspiration.
