 Beverley Courtney really understands dogs. And cats. As an animal trainer with her own puppy school she works with them daily.
The technical aspects were looked after by her Honours Degree in Art & Design at London's Camberwell School of Art and Crafts, where a strong tradition of drawing and craftsmanship gave her a thorough grounding.
Working with pencil, coloured pencils, or tinted graphite, gives a realism to her work at the same time allowing a more painterly treatment of hair. Owners of her subjects have said:
