I have been painting for 16 years. It was something i always wanted to do but never had the time. I am constantly inspired by beautiful sunsets, and local landscapes in Wales.
I have shown my work in various exhibitions including, Conwy, Abergele Library,Liverpool Academy of Art, Mold Art Gallery, North Wales Art Society Exhibitions over 3 years , where I organised the Exhibitions featuring over 500 artworks by local artists. I am a member of Conwy Valley Art Society, selling in various venues. My work is currently in a local restaurant and Oriel-y-Gader, Dolgethli.
Spiritual Art is a large part of my life. I go to sleep thinking about art and wake up sometimes with a new idea.
This year i took on a disused shop and opened up a community art and craft gallery, giving the local artists the opportunity to showcase their work and sell to the public. It is run as a charity with volunteers and we now have over 110 members. The Gallery in Colwyn Bay is vibrant and exciting. A centre where people can meet and exchange ideas. We hold painting classes every day.
All art materials are supplied as well as refreshments and music to paint by. It is a lovely way of getting like minded people together, good company and a masterpiece to take home!
I use Acrylic, Oil, and Encaustic Wax on Canvas.
Encaustic Wax is 2000 years old. It is beeswax with pigment that is melted on a small iron and worked into the card or canvas. The effects are vibrant and beautiful. It is very inspirational. The wax is finished off with a soft tissue to shine the wax. A true talking point.
