Bryan Thorpe



Bryan Thorpe A Self taught painter studied art & design and fine art at West Suffolk Collage and Anglia Polytechnic University. Works predominately in unpretentious Figurative/Portrait work, Stylistically avant-garde, impressionism with undertones of realism.
Born 1968 in the east end of London moved to Suffolk as a child. An ex R.A.F Regiment Gunner and alcoholic began his journey of recovery late 2009 after 27 years of addiction. Bryan has since taken on the role of resident Artist at Artheads a community based project designed to help people who are experiencing difficulties with drugs and alcohol through the use of Art.
Bryan is a volunteer Peer supporter of Focus12 an independent charity providing drug and alcohol rehabilitation through both residential and day-care facilities. where he received treatment and continuing support.
Bryan's main portfolio of work at present involves public art assignments commissioned by the local council of Bury St.Edmunds.
