Artist Caroline Jalfon

I have been drawing and painting since I was a child - it was my favourite thing to do. I always knew I wanted to study Art. I gained A* grades in both Art and Textiles at GCSE level. After that, the family and I decided to emigrate to New Zealand, and whilst over there, I was accepted in to the prestigious Whitecliffe College of Arts and Design where I had planned to complete a 4 year degree in Fine Arts. Unfortunately I was not able to finish, (due to reasons that were not associated with the course), and moved back to England. Although I have not been able to go back to University to complete my degree, I have carried on painting in my spare time. Most recently, one of my paintings ("Frangipanis" as seen here in my collection) was featured in an Award-winning Short Film in New Zealand called "Communication." As I have matured, so has my style of painting. I always paint images that reflect my mood. I am in a good place in my life at the moment, and so there are lots of love, dance and positivity within my paintings. I love to use oil paint as it's the perfect medium to play with colours on the canvas. The texture it can create, I adore. I also always paint on canvas blocks as they help accentuate the painting. All of my pieces come with a Certificate of Authenticity so you can be sure you are the only one who owns that picture.
