Caroline Kaye graduated from Liverpool Polytechnic (since renamed The John Moores University) in 1986 with a degree in Fine Art. Originally, she combined a career in part time teaching with part time painting.
Until recently, Caroline was Head of Art at a further education college and she has now left that post to concentrate on her own art. She has returned to traditional and experimental painting after a period of experimentation with film, photography and performance. Caroline also has an MA in Screen Studies. She paints as often as she can and she sells her work on a regular basis to a wide range of clients. Caroline is interested in exploring vibrant colours and textures both in her more realistic and abstracted work. She works with watercolour, mixed media, acrylic and combinations of many types of media, on paper, board and canvas.
Her work is quite diverse, some pieces are quite conventional and 'realistic' others, more abstracted.
She has recently shown work at the Atkinson Gallery in Southport, the Town Hall in Bootle, and in a group show at Southport Arts Centre. She has been voted People's Choice twice with The Artist Magazine and exhibited in the magazine's prestigious exhibition at the Patchings Art Centre in 2011.
Caroline's work can also be seen on a number of online galleries.
