I started drawing and painting at a very young age and always knew that this was what I wanted to do. In my early twenties I was commissioned by public house business owners to draw their premises, I was also commissioned by Tennants Breweries to produce some work for one of their premises. I have always been fascinated by buildings and this led me to producing postcards of my pencil drawings of well known Glasgow landmarks. My prints have also been used in various publications. I have also illustrated a book. My prints have sold in galleries for many years along with my paintings.
I love painting scenes of my native city Glasgow and in recent years did a series of oil paintings on the Gorbals, a well known area in the East end. These paintings are rich in the cultural heritage of the city during the 1950's and 60's and many of the scenes are long gone and remain only a distant memory. My most recent work after a recent trip to Australia, was to produce some studies of Australian Aboriginal musicians. This has seen me shift from oil paint to pastel as a medium.
