Cathy Turner
Fantasy Artist & Designer
Set up business, as Scheherazade in 2001. Creating & designing unique pieces of artwork & textiles.
One of the collections, called “Natural Instincts”, inspired from a variety of sources, ivy & lichen covered trees, to rocky coasts, sea creatures, shells.
Blending in legends, story-telling and mythology. Themes I return to again and again, replicating in jewellery, accessories, paintings, or garments.
Exhibit paintings, regularly with “Art from the Square” a group of Merseyside Artists, since about 1991.
With a variety of other exhibitions ,both here and abroad.
Training originally in Fine Art, I now, switch between
mediums, incorporating – handmade felts, dyes, silk papers, with machine/ hand embroidery. Then revert back to paint.
Many of the textiles retain, colours or textures which dominate my paintings.
