Charles Bowden currently works for the art council and exhibits in his spare time in local art shows. As a student of Fine Art at the University of Reading, Charles Bowden became interested in the division between commercial art for the home and conceptual art for galleries.
Uncertain of the exact rules for either criterion he began to explore the possibility of blurring the boundaries. He has two distinct styles; the first is his concern with society’s waste of every day objects. In these paintings he tries to re-establish found objects, which have been discarded, in an attempt to give them new life. The second is more illustrative and creates images of everyday objects/people/places with a sinister undertone.
Charles Bowden has sold several works at reasonable prices and they are certain to make great conversational pieces.
