Chiara is an exciting new, up-and-coming artist from Edinburgh, who's work has received a lot of positive feedback here at The Art Gallery. Here she tells us a bit about herself and her art:
"Hello and thank you for viewing my online gallery! I am a fully self-taught artist, who up until February 2010 had never painted a day in my life. I have always been artistic however but it was drawing that was my strong point. As a child I was always drawing from as early as I can remember and would sit for hours at a time doing just that... blissfully unaware of my surroundings and lost in beautiful creativity. It was only when I was encouraged to paint that I realised my true "calling" in life.
These days I'm influenced by lots of different artists (both past and present) and in particular the works of; Dali, Magritte, Van Gogh, Escher, Bosch, Picasso and Monet (to name but a few!). At the minute I'm particularly favouring the work of Jack Vettriano, an incredible and successful self-taught artist (and fellow Scot!) whom I deeply admire.
As a self-educated artist, I generally find it easy (albeit trying at times!) being my own teacher. Being naturally visual helps me a great deal and I'm a firm believer in "direct observation", as oppose to painting from memory but of course every artist is different.
Since putting my art "out there", I have received an incredibly warm reception and have had great encouragement, both locally and worldwide. I have had a lot of interest also in doing commission work and for hosting art exhibitions in and around the Capital. I'm soon to be preoccupied however, with supplying the initial artwork for an up-and-coming Edinburgh band and then I'll be busy producing several artworks for a film that will be premièring in London in the autumn of this year ('12), which I am very much looking forward to.
At present I am working on my first collection, as well as being in the process of converting a beautiful old property into an art studio, in Edinburgh's glorious south."
Finally, here are Chiara's principles on customer care:
"I pride myself on professionalism and will only use the highest quality of art materials - choosing professional, top quality brands always for all of my creations.
My finished works are carefully and securely stored away after completion also. I acknowledge all orders here at The Art Gallery within 24 hours of notification and all of my Original artworks come with a signed "Certificate of Authenticity", presented in a clear and protective sleeve. Every piece is securely and thoroughly packaged by myself, the artist - with the appropriate, more delicate ones being wrapped for protection with professional artists' glassine paper, plus bubble wrap (as standard). I also order in professional, bespoke boxes for any artwork that is of a unique measuring once packaged up.
Select sales come with a printed out cautionary note (on how to preserve the life of each piece) but only the ones that need that little extra bit of TLC!
I now only post sales using Parcel Force's 24 (or 48) hour, tracked and recorded courier service (unless otherwise stated), for your convenience and piece of mind.
*Every artwork sold has a 14-day money back guarantee as standard.
All of my artworks on display through my profile are currently only available to purchase through ArtGallery.co.uk.
If you have any questions or queries about my art, please contact me through the site (choosing the "Make an enquiry" option, located under each of my artworks descriptions) and I will be happy to help you where I can, with all enquiries being answered ASAP.
Thank you."
