Hi, my name is Chris Giles, im a self taught artist and live in North-Norfolk where i have been surounded by the beautiful views of natures inspiration for my whole life. Having always been keen to draw, paint and generally create art of some sort i studied art at GCSE level where i gained an A grade, and continued with my artistic pursuits at A-Level in 1998. Although always having a great interest in art and often producing small pastel paintings, water colours and some acrylic pieces i soon found that with a busy full time job, time quickly became occupied and my art began to take a reluctant back seat. In April 2011 whilst perusing the displays in one of my favourite North Norfolk galleries i had a realisation that unless i made an effort and "got the ball rolling" my little dream of producing and showing some art to the public would indeed remain "a little dream"! After speaking to the very approachable and friendly gallery owner i managed to secure a wall space for 1 month at the next exhibition "session", unfortunately this was all happening in two weeks time and i was worried that i was yet to produce something that i was 100% happy to exhibit! For the next two weeks i worked hard and wasted a lot of paint but finally had six pieces ready to show.. i was very excited! Since then i have spent as much time as i can find opening my mind to new ideas, experimenting with different techniques and trying to create my own style and identity.
