Artist Christopher Harrison

Born in 1980, I grew up in the seaside town of Blackpool. After spending a few years in the south of Spain and the Isle of Man I settled in Glasgow, where I have been for the last 6 years. Working as a pilot I've been able to travel to many corners of the world and soak up all the varied and wonderful cultures. It is these experiences that are reflected in my art. I have always been attracted to bright and vibrant colours, from the famous Blackpool Illuminations to the hustle and bustle of the markets of Marrakesh and Mumbai. The majority of my recent work has focused on the sea, and in particular harbours. Like the big airports around the country where I spent my working days they are full of people looking forward to there journey. For me its all about the anticipation and excitement of staring at the horizon and wondering what's on the other side.
