I studied fine art in England in the later 1960s and lived in Australia for 28 years before returning to the UK in 2001. I have worked as a full time professional artist since 1993 and have had six very successful solo exhibitions during that time.
My work is eclectic and styles will vary according to chosen themes using acrylics, pastels, ink and digital media.
Influences are as varied as my work and although I have my favourites, such as Sisley, Cezanne, Chagall and the great Australian painter Sidney Nolan to name but a few, I could not say I have been consciously influenced by any one artist. I believe we are all affected by everything the eye and brain experience whether we want to be or not!
My aim is simply to communicate with and entertain whoever is looking at my work. If I can just brighten someone’s day I feel the effort of creating has been worthwhile.
