Corrina Holyoake spent the first 11 years of her life bought up in Africa where she holds many a fond memory. She then moved to the UK where she still resides.
She has always had a love for art and has been drawing and painting from an early age. She went to art college after school where she gained a BTEC in general art and design. After that she then went straight into the graphic designing trade. This was pursued for a few years, starting from trainee graphic designer to senior designer.
Like most youngsters she developed the travel bug and decided to go backpacking around Australia with her better half. While she was out there she learnt about the techniques used in aboriginal painting, a style that she still finds very hard to steer away from today. Many of her fine art works reflect this style. Older works are heavily influenced by this style but even pieces done today still display some of the techniques.
She has a great love for colour, pattern, symmetry and vibrancy. A big kid at heart you will find that many of her illustrations are humorous and tend to have the cute factor. Her aim is to put a smile on peoples faces, and give all of her pieces, whether it is an illustration or a large painting, a happy vibe.
She has explored a wide area of art from graphic designing, fine art, illustrating, tattoo designing and mural painting to name a few. It has been the past year where she has come to realize that illustrating is the path that she is being naturally lead to.
She is currently illustrating a couple of children’s books due to be published later this year and is eager to pursue a career in illustrating, for either publishers or greeting card manufacturers
