| After leaving school I embarked on the arduous journey of my artistic studies which began at the Warrington collegiate institute where I spent three years obtaining an intermediate and advanced BTEC GNVQ in art and design and also a national diploma in graphic design. Following this I spent a further three years at the Manchester Metropolitan University where I acheived my BA(hons) degree in illustration with animation.
Since graduating in 2001 I've strived to develop my style which has led me away from my illustrative roots slightly, I began to work more on canvas and produce larger peices which I had previously not done, I found this suited my approach to art much more.
In 2003 I sold my first painting and to date I have sold around forty. At the moment i'm predominantly painting people, in particular portraits. Although as an artist I am not limited to this, its simply whatever inspires me at the time which could be anything and everything.
I believe my style to be a modern one, although it does in many respects pay homage to tradition, its representative, realistic, stylish and smooth, and overall maintains a painterly effect.
Enjoy. |
