Artist Darren Lucas

I was born in the small town of St Helens, Lanchashire were I still am to this very day. Even from a very young age I have always had a passion for art, especially drawing but regrettably after studing Fine Art at A Level I decided not to follow up in a career in Art. I went on to study Graphic Design as an Foundation Degree then I went on to work in Retail Management and for the passed few years I have worked within the Financial Industry. For me the passion never went away, it just got put on hold which is why I am currently on a career break so I can concentrate fully on my Artwork.

Most of what I know is self-taught bit I did have a brilliant teacher in Derek Boak at High School who helped to hone my skills within drawing.

I do a have Love of most Art and have tried to experiment with other media's in the past but my key passion is for graphite drawings. Orginally I started of drawing the human form, many portraying people who I have an interest in, which consisted of players from my 2nd love Liverpool FC and many of the wrestle worlds superstars (all of which can be seen on my DeviantArt page). It's only in the past year that I have started to draw animals and wildlife which I have found challenging but extremely rewarding so I now plan moving onto birds and other Wildlife animals.
