Artist David Bishop

I was born in 1966 and have always expressed myself artistically. Cartoons and illustrations developed into paintings and I attended Hereford Art College in 1988 and then moved to London. Working on Creative projects has enabled me to explore many mixed mediums and to travel. I have journeyed through the US and Europe extensively but words cannot express how deeply I was moved by my trip to India. Back in London I worked on making stage sets and props for Film and TV, West End Theatres and Major Department Stores, also preparing galleries such as the Hayward Gallery for new shows. It was whilst working in private homes on specialist interior painting, that I started to sell my own work. This was the catalyst I needed to start exhibiting and selling my paintings. Painting, for me, is an all encompassing passion. It’s what I do. It releases my soul. Inspired by a theme or a feeling, sometimes a landscape or a figure; it allows for pure spontaneous expression and the subconscious to flow. I prefer to work with oils but sometimes also enjoy the use of acrylics.
