 I am a contemporary British artist who specialises in landscapes, seascapes and portraits. My landscapes are firmly rooted in the landscape of northern England, while my seascapes record the western coasts of England and Wales.
I try to make my work accessible to everyone without letting the paintings become repetititve or derivative.
I paint subjects and themes that can be appreciated by everyone. I paint the landscapes and seascapes that I love, in the hope that my painting can evoke similar responses in you, the viewer.
When painting, I look for beauty not just in obvious places, but also in the unexpected and random juxtapositions of nature. The roots of all my paintings are in a love of the natural world. Painting is one of the most intense experiences for me, and I hope this is reflected in my work.
