I left school at 16 but wanted to work with animals. Art was just a relaxing hobby for when I had time.
In between having a family, I have worked at the RSPCA and local tourist attractions where I was responsible for the welfare and training of the animals, from birds of all types to reptiles, bugs and farm animals.
This all changed when I entered some of my work into a local art exhibition. For three years I sold art at every exhibition I did and won wildlife categories.
A local award-winning artist took me under her wing. Due to this encouragement, my husband's support, and a growing demand for my work, in 2007 I took the huge step of leaving my employment to concentrate on my artwork full-time.
I think the work I have done with animals has given me a great understanding of the way they "work" and I have been told by several clients that I capture the personality of the subject, not just the image, in my paintings.
Artgallery rating Positive. This artist has received positive feedback from customers regarding reliability and excellence of artistry.
