I started drawing horses at a very early age, my father was in the Mounted Police and I started riding when I was 5. On leaving school I started work as a groom but still kept up my drawing doing portraits for friends and the occasional commission when people saw my work. Studied Foundation Art and Design at Cumbria Institute of Arts and continued to do the occasional commission. Now after a lot of encouragement I am starting to go public with my work. I specialise in horses as this is where my heart lies but also do dog and cat portraits and fantasy work. I have also taken a few tentative steps into tattoo design! It has taken me a while but I finally feel that my work has a place under the public eye, each of my pieces are very individual, very figurative and done using a unique pointillism/sketch technique that I haven't seen anywhere else. I only use high quality inks (or paint although paintings from me are a rare occurence) and all my work is done using high quality heavyweight watercolour card.
