Artist Elizabeth Thomson

After studying foundation art at Middlesex Polytechnic and a degree in Fine Art at Liverpool Polytechnic, I exhibited in a few local galleries in Liverpool and London, and sold most of my work from those years. In the slump of the early 90s I was unable to find work and ended up doing a TEFL course and living in Asia for the next 10 years or so, where I did a variety of mural/interior design projects alongside teaching English and the occasional exhibition. Vietnam became a second home, and I studied lacquer painting in a a studio with a couple of well-known Vietnamese artists in Hanoi. Mainly paint in oil and lacquer, also use acrylic, but love drawing both in charcoal and soft lead pencils as well.
