I am basically an equestrian artist and portrait painter. Hence much of my work has been commissioned. However, I am now concentrating on paintings for sale as well as continuing to work on commissioned portraits of horse and people.
Until a year ago, I had only dull sitting rooms in which to paint but now have a wonderful studio in my garden. This has enabled me to be much more prolific and I spend much of the daylight hours in there painting. I am a horse owner and rider and horses are my first love.
I was commissioned by the British Army in 1993 to paint the Drum Horse of the Queens Own Hussars Regiment. This work stands in the officers mess of the now amalgamated regiment.
I have just had an exhibition of my paintings at the Brick Lane Gallery, London. I have also had a painting hung by the Society of equestrian Artists.
I have a love of horses that I hope shows in my paintings of them. I aim to see into the character and should as well as the likeness of every individual I paint, whether for a commission or simply as a model for one of my paintings.
