 Originally from North Wales Gareth studied art and graphics at Flintshire and Loughborough Colleges of Art.
Art, drawing and painting have been constant elements of his life since childhood.
Initially a freelance illustrator, he forged a highly successful career in Graphics before becoming a full time professional artist in 2010.
Gareth lives and works in his studio/gallery overlooking Swansea Bay and Kenfig Nature Reserve in South Wales.
This coastal environment and nature in general, provide Gareth's main inspiration but he also draws from a wide variety of sources including travel and everyday objects.
Recording in sketchbooks, photographs and using mental notes, he has a keen eye for composition, shade and light and colour.
Gareth works primarily in acrylics, but pastels and mixed media are also employed in a representational style that is accurate, yet not slavish, in it's approach.
His aim is to simply convey to others the pleasure that he himself sees in his subjects, whether it be a place, an object or a specific moment in time.
