Artist Gavin Mctear

I graduated from the University of the West of England (UWE) with a degree in Drawing and Applied Arts in 2006. Since then I spent time travelling and living overseas during which time I was able to visit wild places and encounter interesting wildlife which has always been a fascination for me. Wildness is the main inspiration for my painting, whether it is trying to capture the excitement of a wildlife encounter or in other cases, the wildness of an unrestricted imagination as an antidote to a world of limits and boundaries. Since returning to England I have exhibited and sold some paintings locally in Devon and continue to search out wildness where ever I can.
