 I studied Art A level at school, but after leaving school I did not take a career in Art. I went on to be a postman, then a car body repairer and then on to engineering. It wasn't until I met my wife and we were expecting our first child that i decided to do a mural on the nursery wall. My wife has pushed me after seeing my ability and since then i have seen myself progress and found a style I enjoy. I have been concentrating on pencil portraits for the last 12 months. I enjoy pencils because i like the smooth affects I can achieve with them. I enjoy realism becuase I like the attention you have to pay to the detail and bringing the page alive with the expression in the persons face.
