Glyn was born in Yorkshire in 1965 and spent most of his childhood in the countryside or at home drawing at the kitchen table. The first job he held as a schoolboy was as a beater on a local shoot, run by a local vermin control officer. From this early age he has had a keen interest in field sports and is particularly passionate about shooting and field craft.
After leaving school Glyn joined the Royal Air Force to pursue an engineering career where a passion for aircraft and the military machine developed. It was during his time in the Air Force that Glyn began painting in earnest.
As a self taught artist Glyn feels his way through a painting and describes the process as “an all consuming passion”
These days Glyn spends most of his time in the studio; but whenever the light is good, or a cloud formation interesting, he is a familiar sight walking the fields with a camera and sketch book collecting valuable reference material for future projects.
