Graham Pawley, born 1959 in High Wycombe, Buckinghamshire, displayed a talent for drawing and painting at an early age. Instead of going to art school as his teachers recommended, he served an engineering apprenticeship and became a skilled engineer. His ability to work using his own initiative led him into many areas of machine room processes, and he worked for several years in charge of producing prototypes and pre-production components.
During 26 years in the trade Graham worked for four different companies. He machined parts for the woodworking machinery industry, industrial hosiery automation, and finally moved on to producing precision component parts used in aviation/ejector-seat technologies.
In 2001 Graham decided to leave engineering and began painting full-time. He is a self-taught artist working in the main with oils on canvas, and uses only the best materials available.
Graham is a man who is not afraid of art, he enjoys each challenge, he paints wildlife, as well as portraits. And while Graham is able to produce his own work, he also enjoys producing extremely accurate interpretations of any subject matter, working from modern photographs: colour or black and white, also and unusually, colour from black and white, or black and white from colour.
Each canvas is presented inside a carefully selected top quality frame, and is ready to hang on the wall.
Graham also loves wood carving in English Oak and can make his own frames as well in his fully-equipped workshop.
