Hilary Adair is an English artist who lives on Exmoor in Somerset, where she has her studio. She studied Painting at St. Martin's School of Art and Printmaking at Brighton College of Art and works from preliminary studies using pencil and watercolour developing ideas onto canvas with acrylics and oils.
Also known as a printmaker, she was elected to the Royal Society of Painter Printmakers in 1987.
Hilary has connections with Greece as well as Exmoor, where she finds many ideas relating to her work; landscape, still-life, gardens and poems are recurring themes. She has exhibited widely, her first solo exhibition being presented by the British Council in Athens and her work is held in many public and private collections around the world.
