| I studied Fine Art at Birmingham College of Art before becoming an Art Teacher. While at college, the impetus from lecturers and the avant-garde was towards entirely abstract work.
It is with great pleasure that I have returned years later to figurative work. The majority of my paintings represent the human form, although recently I have worked with images of architecture and elements of landscape. I have successfully exhibited in the West Midlands including galleries in Pershore, Bewdley and Worcester and have sold steadily for the last three years since leaving full-time teaching. My aim is to portray images which are clearly identifiable but which have a quality of paint application and use of colour which is intended to excite the observer regardless of the subject matter. |
