Having been the occasional artist since I can remember,I hadn't produced anything really worth looking at until I met my partner a few years ago. Celia has a passion for art and creativity and she took me to Patchings in 2007 where I was inspired to put brush/pencil/pastel to paper or canvas once more. My first works were of Celia's dogs in watercolour pencil which were quickly framed and hung in the lounge. My subject matter then went off on a tangent and I set out painting anything from steam trains to foxes to fairground rides. I am very much a detail person and spend hours ensuring I get that true likeness. Landscapes are something I am yet to attempt, I find myself producing up close, graphic, vivid colour,in-your-face art. The use of pastels in a completely free manner meant taking a big step outside my comfort zone but the results were very pleasing. See The Jazz Musician. Since 2008, I have exhibited work twice at The Beetroot Tree Gallery in Draycott and am planning to do so again in 2010. Gallery 18 in Loughborough have also offered to display some of my work. I have recently become a member of Soar Valley Artists club.
