I am a graphite pencil artist living and working in the peaks of Derbyshire in the UK. At the age of sixteen I left school to pursue a career in civil engineering and spent the next twenty two years working on road and rail projects across the UK. During an extended period of illness in 2008 I discovered the relaxation power of art, in particular drawing. Since then I have worked hard to improve my technique, however, being self taught I have been told many times that my style is somewhat unusual. The engineer in me has a big influence in my work in which I try to create realism by including a high level of accuracy and detail in everything I do.
