Born in Staffordshire, Ivan showed an early interest in art and exhibited 40 paintings on BBC TV's "Sketch Club". These paintings were later sold by the BBC to raise money for UNICEF. After studying Fine Arts and graphics, Ivan worked as a graphic artist in industry and became Head of Graphics for Staffordshire County Council Education department.
He had his first one man exhibition in 1972 and has been a full time artist since 1989, supplying galleries in England, Wales, USA, Belgium, and France, as well as doing commissions and has work im many private and public collections in the UK and abroad. His work has been reproduced in the "Studio" publications and also put into print. Ivan who is President of The Staffordshire Artists Society has had exhibitions in Dallas, Texas and in London and won the Roland Hilder Prize at the R.I open at the Mall Galleries in 2006. Is now an associate member of the RBSA.
