My work is not portraiture, the works are drawings! Sourced from my imagination and fascination of the human head and the variation of cultures and hopefully creating a visual elegance of communication,I feel beauty connects us with the mystery of being.
Some of my works,(images), are created by the building up of layers and levels,to create skin texture and hair structure, the medium I use are Derwent fine art pencils, on soft Canford card which has a (flesh) surface and works in harmony with the fine pencils.
I have four limited edition prints, printed in geclee format from originals, size 23inch x 16 inch, mounted in white, framed in black wood, framed size 31 x23 inch.
There are also six oroginal works, all of my works are created on a black
background which creates the drama i wish to acheive,( with the exeption of
CENTUHUA... which was created on a deep purple background, and BLUE.... which
was created on a grey background) to reflect the mood of these two images.
All my works are glazed and mounted in WHITE and framed in BLACK wood which
compliments the black background of the works.
CENTUHUE... 23inches x16.5 inches, image size,
framed size 35 inches x 27 inches.
CENTUHUE... was created in ten weeks and has many layers in the building of
anatomy, skin and hair structure.
THE CHAIRMAN...was created in thirteen weeks, and has many layers of shade
and light in the building of the image.
THE CHAIRMAN... 23 inches x 16 inches, image size,
framed size 35 inches x27 inches.
BLUE... was created as a sketch on a grey background to create a blue mood,
BLUE... 23inches x 16 inches, image size,
framed size 31inches x 16 inches.
JULIETTE... was created as a sketch on a black background,
10 inches x8inches image size, framed size 15inches x12inches.
GEORGIA... was created by the building of skin and hair layers,
11 inches x 8 inches, framed size 17 inches x 12 inches.
CHAMPAGNE GOWN... has many layers in creating a chiffon floating fabric,
10 inches x 8 inches image size, framed size 15 inches x 12 inches.
All my works i sign on the work, as well as signing on the mount where
the Title of the image is placed.
