Since completing a BA hons degree in Fine Art at the Bristol School of Art and Design in 2004 James Casburn has spent time working in the south west of England and the east coast of America and is currently located in Norfolk.
James works in an intuitive way creating compositions that are at once contemplative and harmonious yet active and lively often conveying a sense of being in a state of flux. He believes art is creative in a way that is analogous to the creativity in nature: each form and gesture in an artwork has autonomy and yet its self similarity draws into an interaction with other forms and gestures in the piece to generate an environment that forces us to continuously realise the artwork is alive and dynamically in motion.
