I have a passion for mountains, lakes, becks, burns, lochs and sea.
Born in Worcestershire, I paint scenes of my local area but prefer to paint landscapes of the Lake District and Scotland which is where I have been selling the majority of my work for the last fivteen years.
I work in two mediums; acrylic on to stretched Canvas and gouache on to watercolour paper. Both are completely different mediums but both allow me to express myself with true depth and colour but still retain a subtlety.
My technique is mostly self taught, with a little help and inspiration from fellow Worcestershire artist Robin Jennings.
I do like to experiment and I like to try different styles and mediums, most recently getting involved in a local street art initiative called Subway Deluxe (see picture). I use a knife, collage and textured mediums to add depth to my acrylics.
In 2003 my portraits of a Greylag Goose and Kingfisher were used by the Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust for Christmas Cards.
I you have any questions about my work I would be pleased to hear from you.
