Artist Jane Butler

Jane Butler studied Graphic Design and Illustration in England before moving to Australia where she began a career in advertising as a Copywriter and Art Director. After five years in Australia and ten in Canada, Jane returned to the UK where she was able to develop her life-long interest in painting. Painting exclusively on silk, much of Jane’s work is inspired by whimsical memories of places she has visited. “Colour is my passion and that’s what attracts me to working on silk”, says Jane. “I find the vibrancy of the colour and the way it glows on the fabric uniquely compelling.” When she is not painting, Jane runs a children’s art group. She exhibits regularly in and around London and the South East and has private collectors in France, North America and Australia.
