I initially trained as an scenic artist and prop maker in London at The Guildhall School of Music & Drama, working professionally in television and the theatre. As the years went by I became frustrated by the "throw away" nature of the work I was producing so I then went on to qualify in figurative sculpture at Stafford Art College in Staffordshire.
Along with privately and publicly commissioned bronze portraiture work, (Linda McCartney, Fred Dibnah, Andy Capp, Queen Mother)I also teach, and was invited by surgeon Iain Hutchison to work as sculptor in residence at St Barts Hospital, London working for the charity "Saving Faces". Here I helped patients study and come to terms with their "new" surgically altered faces through the medium of portrait sculpture.
As a sculptor, I am passionate about not only the human figure and its celebration in 3D form, but the production of lasting, inspirational sculptures that embrace traditional craftsmanship, sculptural skills and technique.
