I studied art at Exeter School of Art, in the 1960’s and have attended various courses since. I claim that I became an artist at age ten approximately when I won a painting competition run by a well known artist materials company, though I painted and created pottery and wrote stories from an early age.
The first work I sold was a landscape, painted for my own amusement as I sat in a park. It was spotted by a passer-by who really wanted it. I named a sum and she agreed so readily that I wondered if I had under sold it though I was thrilled, and about fifteen years old by then. I have been a member of various art groups and have sold paintings at our exhibitions. Our local group closed recently due to lack of members, a state that I hope is temporary.
I mostly paint land and seascapes, animals, birds and gardens and flowers. Don’t ask for a portrait unless you don’t mind looking like a character for a scary movie.
