After receiving a BA(hons) degree in Fine Art from the University of Derby, I exhibited at the work-for-the-eye-to-do gallery in London. I then moved abroad to work as a full time artist at CreatechArt Studios on the Gold Coast, Australia. I now live and work in England where I exhibit at the Mable and Isaac gallery, Durham, and The Biscuit Factory, Newcastle-upon-Tyne. I have paintings in private collections as far afield as America, Australia and Papua New Guinea. I have spent a good deal of time in Papua New Guinea working as an anthropologist's field assistant, taking photographs and sketching ceremonial outfits and other objects. On a personal level I made strong bonds with village males by making gifts of the portraits I sketched of them. Based on my sketches, photographs and memories, my recent work represents the changing face of an isolated people on the brink of development and are evocative of my personal experiences amongst them.
